My friends and I tend to be very spontaneous in trips,
activities, and other plans. I have a group of friends I hang out with everyday
consisting of about twenty people when we are all together. The biggest problem
we have is the majority of us like to oversimplify situations or issues. For
example we were planning a winter retreat to Big Bear Mountain to go
snowboarding and hang out for the weekend.
Instead of worrying about how or what were we going to eat we only
worried about the price to rent the cabin and having money for drinks. We spent
$300 dollars on alcohol and only $150 on food to feed all twenty of us for
three days and nights. All the food was gone in a days worth of breakfast,
lunch, and dinner. Because of the over simplistic nature my friend who planned
the trip I had to spend more money that I did not really have on food.
I can see how over simplifying ideas may be a problem, even within a big group of friends. Young kids now a days tend to think about their wants more than their needs and your escapade with your alcohol-quenching friends is a prime example of this. By the way, what does TMF mean?
ReplyDeleteI understand your position on mentally disabled and handicapped kids because I myself have a special ED brother who has been in classes with these kids all his life. I would have stood up for my brother and all the kids that experience these difficulties just as you have. Although, I must say that I would have not let a guy that was as ignorant as the guy you came across by, get in the way of my job. I would have probably stood the guy on his feet and sternly explained to him that one of those kids could have been very easily been him if there was a minor change in his chromosomes. Although I am glad, that you stood up for what you believed in.=]
